Instructions for authors
The authors intending to have their papers or reviews published should submit their work by post using the editor’s office address or deliver them personally. The submission should include one printed copy as well as one digitalised copy on CD in the form of a Word for Windows file. The texts should not be formatted.
Additionally, the following editorial requirements should be met:
- The length of the paper should not exceed 40 pages of the main text (Times New Roman 12-point, 1,5 spacing)
- Please use footnotes with Latin abbreviations (ibidem, idem) and Times New Roman 12-point, 1,5 spacing.
- Notes referring to unpublished archival sources should include: name of the archive and the archival fonds, accession number, page number, folio, document’s title (all written without italics), for example:
- Archiwum Państwowe w Bydgoszczy, Urząd Wojewódzki Pomorski w Bydgoszczy, acc. No. 928, f. 33, Konsystorz Polskiego Kościoła Ewangelicko-Augsburskiego do Wojewody Pomorskiego w Bydgoszczy.
- Archiwum Akt Nowych, Ministerstwo Administracji Publicznej, Departament Wyznaniowy, acc. No. 1057, pp. 19-20, ks. J. Szeruda, ks. Z. Michelis do MAP.
- Notes referring to books with one author as well as those whose authors are inseparable should include: name of the author(s), title of the book (in italics), place and date of publishing, page number, for example:
- S. Salmonowicz, Od Prus Książęcych do Królestwa Pruskiego. Studia z dziejów prusko-pomorskich, Olsztyn 1992, p. 21-22.
- Z. Guldon, J. Wijaczka, Procesy o mordy rytualne w Polsce w XVI-XVIII wieku, Kielce 1995, p. 16.
- Notes referring to collective works should include: name of the author of the essay, title of the essay (in italics), title of the main book where the essay was published (in italics), name of the editor or the person who was responsible for edition, place and date of publishing, page number, for example:
- J. Maciuszko, Protestanckie wzorce osobowości - uwagi o środowisku pomorskim, w: Doskonałość, zbawienie, rodzina. Z badań nad protestantyzmem, ed. by Z. Pasek, Kraków 2005, pp. 69-78.
- Notes referring to scholarly journals should include: name of the author, title of the paper (in italics), title of the journal (inside double quotation marks), volume (if given), year of publication, issue (or number, etc. if given), page number, for example:
- S Salmonowicz, Z problematyki procesów o czary. Uwagi na marginesie najnowszej literatury, „Czasopismo Prawno-Historyczne” 1961, vol. 13, fasc. 2, pp. 209-221.
- A. Wyrobisz, Mieszczanie w opinii staropolskich literatów, „Przegląd Historyczny” 2, 1991, fasc. 1, pp. 51-57.
- Source notes referring to press materials should contain: name of the author, title of the article (in italics), title of the newspaper (inside double quotation marks), date of publishing (for daily and weekly papers: year, issue number, day and month written in words; for monthly and quarterly papers: year and month, issue number, and optionally page number), for example:
- R. Daniłowicz, Ziemia Marszałka, „Rzeczpospolita” 2007, No 263 (7860) 10-11 November.
- T. M. Płużański, Gen. August Emil Fieldorf. Miejsce pogrzebania nieznane, mordercy nieosądzeni, „Gazeta Polska” 2007, No. 46 (747) 14 November, pp. 26-27.
- J. Zabielski, Żołnierze tragicznej sprawy. Narodowe Siły Zbrojne, „Myśl.pl. Pismo narodowo-konserwatywne” 2007, No 6, pp. 32-42.
- If the source has already been referred to in previous notes, please use Latin abbreviations (ibidem, idem).
- When referring to, e.g., more works of the same author please use the following pattern: name and surname, abbreviated title (without ellipsis) written in italics, page number, e.g., referring to the work from Example 3:
- S. Salmonowicz, Od Prus Książęcych do Królestwa Pruskiego, pp. 21-22.
- Ibidem, p. 156.
- When writing a review, please include the surname and the name of the author of the reviewed work as well as its full title, place and date of publishing and the number of pages.
- Quotes used in the text should be written inside double quotation marks, but without italics.
- The paper should be accompanied with a summary in English, French or German or alternatively, if justified by the subject of the paper, in Russian (this also refers to the title of the paper). The summary should not exceed half a page, using Times New Roman 12 point, 1,5 spacing.
- Possible graphics (if necessary) should be prepared in a way allowing direct reproduction.
